BEHEMOTH

Behemoth is a Polish blackened death metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground alongside bands such as Vader, Decapitated, Vesania and Hate.

Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of Satanica, the band showed their presence in the blackened death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno, multi-layered vocals and Middle-Eastern influences. Regardless that Behemoth has been labeled as death metal, black metal or thrash-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled.

Behemoth was formed in 1991 as a trio, with Nergal on guitar and vocals, Baal on the drums, and Desecrator on the guitar. They started with the demos Endless Damnation, and The Return of the Northern Moon.^[5] The most significant however, was the third demo—...From the Pagan Vastlands (1993). This tape was released by Polish label Pagan Records and later on by the American Wild Rags. Their next release was Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) in 1995. A year later, they recorded their second album Grom, which was released in 1996. Grom features many different influences and musical styles, using female vocals as well as acoustic guitars and synthesizers. At the same time, Behemoth finally got a chance to play live shows in its native country and finally tour around Europe, gaining stage experience. Two years later, the band recorded a third album, titled Pandemonic Incantations. The cumilation of their increasing presence and metal media set a new standard for them.^[6] However, due to a lack of promotion, the album was not well-publicized. After another extensive tour, Behemoth signed a two-album deal with Italy's Avantgarde Music in the fall of 1998. The first result of this new collaboration was the successful^[7] album Satanica, on which the black metal sound had evolved into blackened death metal.
The label also secured two European tours for the band in support of Deicide and Satyricon respectively. During that period, Behemoth had to go through some line-up changes and had problems with their ex-Polish label. The new members then were Novy (formerly known from Devilyn, now in Vader, Dies Irae), who handled the bass duties, and Havok, who became the band's guitarist. After the line-up changes Behemoth signed with the Polish label Mystic. The follow-up release to Satanica was Thelema.6. Massive guitar parts and precise drumming, with influences from different sources, saw them progress further towards^[8][9] blackened death metal.
Thelema.6 was supported by the worldwide press and media,^[10] including official releases in Russia and Brazil for the first time. Continuing the support for Thelema.6, Behemoth appeared in several prestigious live events like Wacken Open Air, With Full Force, Inferno Metal Festival, Mystic Festival, and Mind Over Matter Autumn. They started first their headlining tour alongside with Carpathian Forest and Khold, followed by a festival tour in Poland (Thrash em All Fest. with Vader and Krisiun, among others).
In 2001, Behemoth focused on writing new material for a sixth studio album. Meantime, they completed their second headlining tour in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Having completed the recording of their new songs, Behemoth entered Hendrix Studio for the second time, with help of their friend and sound engineer Arkadiusz Malczewski, and produced Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond).

In February 2003, the band started their first tour in Norway, playing in cities such as Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger. On March 11, 2003, the American premiere, scheduled by Century Media Records, headlined Behemoth's first appearance in the American continent. The tour started on the 9th of March at the New Jersey's Metalfest and continued with a decent amount^[11] of shows across America and Canada, with the company of Deicide, Revenge, Vehemence and Amon Amarth. Shortly after doing their first US tour the band was invited to join the Blackest of the Black Tour by Glenn Danzig. The already legendary festival included acts like Danzig, Superjoint Ritual, Nile, and Opeth. In the fall of 2003, Behemoth flew over to US to complete their third tour with Six Feet Under, Skinless and Black Dahlia Murder. The band then played at the Tuska Festival in Finland with Ministry, Soulfly, among others. At that time, due to some line up difficulties, Nergal parted his ways with Havok and Novy, who decided to focus on activities with their own bands. Eventually, the band resumed touring in the UK and Europe.
In 2004, their seventh studio album, Demigod was released to good critical response. Recorded at the Hendrix Studios, the album debuted at number 15 on the national Polish album charts. Music videos for the songs "Conquer All" and "Slaves Shall Serve" were also shot. In fall 2005 the band headlined the Demigod supremacy Canadian tour 2005 with Necronomicon.
In 2007, the band toured Europe alongside Napalm Death, Moonspell and Dew-Scented. Behemoth released their eighth studio album The Apostasy in July of that year. It was recorded at Radio Gdańsk studio in December, 2006. Shortly after the release of The Apostasy, the band was featured as one of Ozzfest 2007's second stage headliners, one of the four non-US bands playing that year.^[12] In October/November 2007, they played their first US headlining tour alongside Job for a Cowboy, Gojira, and Beneath the Massacre.^[13] In October/November 2007 the band toured Europe alongside Canadian death metal combo Kataklysm and Belgium's Aborted.

In February 2008 Behemoth began a headlining tour along with Suicide Silence. In April/May 2008 the band toured North America as part of "The Invaluable Darkness" tour with Keep of Kalessin and headliner Dimmu Borgir. Behemoth spent the summer playing a number of prominent festivals all over Europe.
In October 2008, Behemoth released their first live album, At the Arena ov Aion – Live Apostasy. Also, an EP called Ezkaton was released featuring a re-recorded version of Chant for Eschaton 2000, one new song, two covers, and three live songs. The EP has been released in North America on November 11.
In March 2009, the band suggested that the new album, due in the summer, would be produced by British producer Colin Richardson.^[14] Behemoth released its 9th full length album entitled "Evangelion" on August 9 via Nuclear Blast in Europe and August 11 via Metal Blade in US.^[15] Shemhamforash, a track from this album was released in July 2009 on their MySpace profile.^[16]
In July and August 2009, Behemoth participated in the Rockstar Mayhem Festival alongside a variety of metal bands such as Slayer, Bullet for My Valentine, All That Remains, Trivium, Marilyn Manson, Cannibal Corpse and Job for a Cowboy. In September 2009 Behemoth headlined the "New Evangelion" Polish tour alongside Azarath, Black River and Hermh.^[17]
In January 2010 Behemoth toured North America during "Evangelia Amerika Tour". In March they toured Europe with shows in Scandinavia, Greece and Turkey. In April Behemoth toured Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In May they started European "Evangelion Summer Campaign 2010" with shows on open-air festivals in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. In June and July they toured France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Turkey, Serbia and Croatia with Decapitated and Ex Deo. In July and August they performed on next open-air festivals, in Czech Republic and Poland.
In August 2010 Nergal was rushed to a hospital and was diagnosed with leukemia. It was reported that his leukemia was so advanced that chemotherapy couldn't help him, however, this has now been proven false. His fiancée Doda offered her bone marrow for a transplant but tests showed she wasn't a match.^[18] A donor has since been found. Behemoth have been forced to cancel all next shows in August including Sonisphere Festival in Finland, concerts in Russia, Belarus and Baltic States in September and October, and their North American tour "Lawless States of Heretika" with Watain, Withered and Black Anvil in November and December.
Behemoth's live DVD "Evangelia Heretika" was released on November 9, 2010. The DVD package includes two DVDs featuring Live in Warsaw 2009, Live in Paris 2008, Documentaries, Bonus Material and an Audio CD.^[20]
In 17.01.2011 Nergal left the hematology division of Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne, four weeks after he underwent a bone marrow transplant procedure. He says that he will now take several months of recovery while living in his flat in one of the Gdansk’s districts, in order to restore his physical condition. He also announces that he is eager to play the guitar again for he hasn't played for six months already. He also says that he has a huge motivation and desire to continue his work with the band, thanking all people who helped him.^[21]

Burgerkill (INDONESIA)

Burgerkill adalah sebuah band Hardcore yang berasal dari kota Bandung, Jawa Barat. Nama band ini diambil dari sebuah nama restaurant makanan siap saji asal Amerika, yaitu Burger King, yang kemudian oleh mereka diparodykan menjadi "Burgerkill".

Sejarah

Ini merupakan sebuah cerita pendek dari 12 tahun perjalanan karier bermusik dari sebuah band super keras yang telah menjadi fenomena di populasi musik keras khususnya di Indonesia. Burgerkill band asal Ujungberung, tempat orisinil tumbuh dan berkembangnya komunitas Death metal / Grindcore di daerah timur kota Bandung. Band lulusan scene Uber (Ujungberung) selalu dilengkapi gaya Stenografi Tribal dan musik agresif yang super cepat, Jasad, Forgotten, Disinfected, dan Infamy to name a few.
Burgerkill berdiri pada bulan Mei 1995 berawal dari Eben, scenester dari Jakarta yang pindah ke Bandung untuk melanjutkan sekolahnya. Dari sekolah itulah Eben bertemu dengan Ivan, Kimung, dan Dadan sebagai line-up pertamanya. Band ini memulai kariernya sebagai sebuah side project yang tidak punya juntrungan, just a bunch of metal kids jamming their axe-hard sambil menunggu band orisinilnya dapat panggilan manggung. Tapi tidak buat Eben, dia merasa bahwa band ini adalah hidupnya dan berusaha berfikir keras agar Burgerkill dapat diakui di komunitasnya. Ketika itu mereka lebih banyak mendapat job manggung di Jakarta melalui koneksi Hardcore friends Eben, dari situlah antusiasme masyarakat underground terhadap Burgerkill dimulai dan fenomena musik keras tanpa sadar telah lahir di Indonesia.
Walhasil line-up awal band ini pun tidak berjalan mulus, sederet nama musisi underground pernah masuk jajaran member Burgerkill sampai akhirnya tiba di line-up solid saat ini. Ketika dimulai tahun 1995 mereka hanya berpikir untuk manggung, pulang, latihan, manggung lagi dst. Tidak ada yang lain di benak mereka, tapi semuanya berubah ketika mereka berhasil merilis single pertamanya lewat underground phenomenon Richard Mutter yang merilis kompilasi cd band-band Bandung pada awal 1997. Nama lain seperti Full Of Hate, Puppen, dan Cherry Bombshell juga bercokol di kompilasi yang berjudul "Masaindahbangetsekalipisan" tersebut. Memang masa itu masa indah musik underground. Everything is new and new things stoked people! Tidak tanggung lagu Revolt! dari Burgerkill menjadi nomor pembuka di album yang terjual 1000 keping dalam waktu singkat ini.
Setelah mengenal nikmatnya menggarap rekaman, anak anak ini tidak pernah merasa ingin berhenti, dan pada akhir tahun 1997 mereka kembali ikut serta dalam kompilasi "Breathless" dengan menyertakan lagu "Offered Sucks" didalamnya. Awal tahun 1998 perjalanan mereka berlanjut dengan rilisan single Blank Proudness, pada kompilasi band-band Grindcore Ujungberung berjudul "Independent Rebel". Yang ketika itu dirilis oleh semua major label dengan distribusi luas di Indonesia dan juga di Malaysia. Setelah itu nama Burgerkill semakin banyak menghias concert flyers di seputar komunitas musik underground. The Antics went higher, semakin banyak fans berat menunggu kehadiran mereka diatas panggung. Burgerkill sang Hardcore Begundal!
Disekitar awal tahun 1999, mereka mendapat tawaran dari perusahaan rekaman independent Malaysia, Anak Liar Records yang berakhir dengan deal merilis album Three Ways Split bersama dengan band Infireal (Malaysia) dan Watch It Fall (Perancis). Hubungan dengan network underground di Malaysia dan Singapura berlanjut terus hingga sekarang. Burgerkill menjadi langganan cover zine independent di negara-negara tersebut dan berimbas dengan terus bertambahnya fans mereka dari negeri Jiran. Di tahun 2000, akhirnya Burgerkill berhasil merilis album perdana mereka dengan title "Dua Sisi" dan 5000 kaset yang di cetak oleh label indie asal Bandung, Riotic Records ludes habis dilahap penggemar fanatik yang sudah tidak sabar menunggu sejak lama. Di tahun yang sama, band ini juga merilis single "Everlasting Hope Never Ending Pain" lewat kompilasi "Ticket To Ride", sebuah album yang benefitnya disumbangkan untuk pembangunan sebuah skatepark di kota Bandung.
Single terakhir menjadi sebuah jembatan ke era baru Burgerkill, dimana masa awal mereka lagu-lagu tercipta hasil dari pengaruh band-band Oldschool Hardcore, Name it: Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Sick of it All, Insted, Etc. Seiring dengan waktu, mereka mulai untuk membuka pengaruh lain. Masuklah pengaruh dari band band Modern Metal dan Newschool Hardcore dengan beat yang lebih cepat dan lebih agresif, selain itu juga riff-riff powerchord yang enerjik menjadi bagian kental pada lagu-lagu Burgerkill serta dilengkapi oleh fill-in gitar yang lebih menarik. Anak-anak ini memang tidak pernah puas dengan apa yang mereka hasilkan, mereka selalu ingin berbuat lebih dengan terus membuka diri pada pengaruh baru. Hampir semua format musik keras dilahap dan di interprestasikan kedalam lagu, demikianlah Burgerkill berkembang menjadi semakin terasah dan dewasa. Lagu demi lagu mereka kumpulkan untuk menjadi sebuah materi lengkap rilisan album kedua.
Beberapa Mainstream Achievement pun sempat mereka rasakan, salah satunya menjadi nominator Band Independent Terbaik ala majalah NewsMusik di tahun 2000. Awal tahun 2001 pun mereka berhasil melakukan kerjasama dengan sebuah perusahaan produk sport apparel asal Amerika: Puma yang selama 1 tahun mensupport setiap kali Burgerkill melakukan pementasan. Dan sejak Oktober 2002 sebuah produk clothing asal Australia: INSIGHT juga mensupport dalam setiap penampilan mereka.
Pertengahan Juni 2003, Burgerkill menjadi band Hardcore pertama di Indonesia yang menandatangani kontrak sebanyak 6 album dengan salah satu major label terbesar di negeri ini, Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. Dan setelah itu akhir tahun 2003, Burgerkill berhasil merilis album kedua mereka dengan title "Berkarat". Lagu-lagu pada album ini jauh lebih progressif dan penuh dengan teknik yang lebih terasah dibandingkan album sebelumnya. Hampir tidak ada lagi nuansa straight forward dan moshpart sederhana ala band standard Hardcore yang tercermin dari single-single awal mereka. Pada sector vocal dengan tetap mengedepankan nuansa depresif dan kelam, karakter vocal Ivan sang vokalis Bengal lebih berani dimunculkan dengan penulisan bahasa pertiwi dan artikulasi kata yang lebih jelas. Dan di sector musik pun, Toto, Eben, Andris dan gitaris baru mereka Agung semakin berani menjelajahi daerah-daerah baru yang sebelumnya tidak pernah dijajaki kelompok musik keras manapun di Indonesia.
Sebuah kejutan hadir pada pertengahan tahun 2004, lewat album "Berkarat" Burgerkill masuk kedalam salahsatu nominasi dalam salah satu event Achievement musik terbesar di Indonesia "Ami Awards". Dan secara mengejutkan mereka berhasil menyabet award tahunan tersebut untuk kategori "Best Metal Production". Sebuah prestasi yang mungkin tidak pernah terlintas di benak mereka, dan bagi mereka hal tersebut merupakan sebuah tanggung jawab besar yang harus mereka buktikan melalui karya-karya mereka selanjutnya.
Di awal tahun 2005 di tengah kesibukan mereka mempersiapkan materi untuk album ketiga, Toto memutuskan untuk meninggalkan band yang telah selama 9 tahun dia bangun bersama. Namun kejadian ini tidak membuat anak-anak Burgerkill putus semangat, mereka kembali merombak formasinya dengan memindahkan Andris dari posisi Bass ke posisi Drums dan terus melanjutkan proses penulisan lagu dengan menggunakan additional bass player. Sejalan dengan selesainya penggarapan materi album ketiga, tepatnya November 2005, Burgerkill memutuskan kontrak kerjasama dengan Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia dikarenakan tidak adanya kesepakatan dalam pengerjaan proyek album ketiga. So guys...these kids always have a great spirit to keep blowing their power, dan akhirnya mereka sepakat untuk tetap merilis album ke-3 "Beyond Coma And Despair" di bawah label mereka sendiri Revolt! Records di pertengahan Agustus 2006. Album ketiga yang memiliki arti sangat dalam bagi semua personil Burgerkill baik secara sound, struktur, dan format musik yang mereka suguhkan sangat berbeda dengan dua album sebelumnya. Materi yang lebih berat, tegas, teknikal, dan berani mereka suguhkan dengan maksimal disetiap track-nya.

Namun tak ada gading yang tak patah, sebuah musibah terbesar dalam perjalanan karier mereka pun tak terelakan, Ivan sang vokalis akhirnya menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya ditengah-tengah proses peluncuran album baru mereka di akhir Juli 2006. Peradangan pada otaknya telah merenggut nyawa seorang ikon komunitas musik keras di Indonesia. Tanpa disadari semua penulisan lirik Ivan pada album ini seolah-olah mengindikasikan kondisi Ivan saat itu, dilengkapi alur cerita personal dan depresif yang terselubung sebagai tanda perjalanan akhir dari kehidupannya. "Beyond Coma And Despair" sebuah album persembahan terakhir bagi Ivan Scumbag yang selama ini telah menjadi seorang teman, sahabat, saudara yang penuh talenta dan dedikasi dengan disertai karakter karya yang mengagumkan. Burgerkill pun berduka, namun mereka tetap yakin untuk terus melanjutkan perjalanan karier bermusik yang sudah lebih dari 1 dekade mereka jalani, dan sudah tentu dengan menghadirkan seorang vokalis baru dalam tubuh mereka saat ini. Akhirnya setelah melewati proses Audisi Vokal, mereka menemukan Vicki sebagai Frontman baru untuk tahap berikutnya dalam perjalanan karier mereka.
Dan pada awal Januari 2007 mereka telah sukses menggelar serangkaian tour di kota-kota besar di Pulau Jawa dan Bali dalam rangka mempromosikan album baru mereka. Target penjualan tiket di setiap kota yang didatangi selalu mampu mereka tembus, dan juga ludesnya penjualan tiket di beberapa kota menandakan besarnya antusiasme masyarakat musik cadas di Indonesia terhadap penampilan Burgerkill. Rotting Christ

Rotting Christ is a Greek black metal band formed in 1987. They are noted for being one of the first black metal bands within this region, as well as a premier act within the European underground metal scene

Line-up

The permanent line-up consists of brothers Sakis Tolis (vocals and guitar) and Themis Tolis (drums). Andreas Lagios has been the bassist since 1996, taking the stead of Jim Patsouris. Nightfall's Giorgos Bokos joined as a guitarist in 2005, replacing Kostas Vassilakopoulos.

Three keyboardists had previously been a part of the band; George Tolias, George Zaharopoulos and a session known only as Panayiotis (on A Dead Poem).

 Biography

During their rehearsal era in the late 1980s, the band began as grindcore and released various demos and splits with other bands from the Athens area. The group would later alter their sound with influence from proto-black metal bands like Celtic Frost and Venom, and in the process became one of the genre's instigators. Their 5 song demo, Satanas Tedeum, would show a grindcore/black metal crossover, followed by their career-breaking EP, Passage to Arcturo, in 1991.

One of band's first major appearances was on the 1993 "Fuck Christ Tour" consisting of Immortal and Blasphemy. During this concert, some audience members had engaged in cutting and self mutilation that resulted in hospitalization.^[4] Before signing to Unisound, Mayhem's Øystein Aarseth had expressed interest in distributing the band through his "Deathlike Silence Productions" label,^[5] but due to Aarseth's murder the same year, nothing materialized. The band would sign to Century Media in 1996 and remain on their roster for 10 years before joining Season of Mist.

Rotting Christ have played in many countries outside their native Greece, including both Americas, Greater Europe, Russia, the United Kingdom, Malta and the Middle East. Several heavy metal festivals around the world have hosted the band, including the 2003 Wacken Open Air in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Past tourmates have included My Dying Bride, Tristania, Tiamat, Vintersorg, Finntroll, Agathodaimon, Old Man's Child, Malevolent Creation, Anorexia Nervosa, Vader, Krisiun, Deicide, Behemoth and Nile, among many others.^[6][7][8]

 Publicity

Over the years, the group has faced controversy due to their name and gained international media attention in November 1999 during the 2000 United States Presidential Primaries for Republican Nomination, when candidate/Christian conservative Gary Bauer accused the band of being "anti-Catholic", among other things. In response to Bauer's criticism, Sakis wrote:

“

Living in (so called) democratic societies, I think everyone should have the right to call religions as he/she wants. We in fact simply believe they are "rotting"! We are not a "satanic-crusader" type of band but rather one of the many bands that represent the dark side in nowadays Metal music. [9]

”

They also have had to cancel some shows, most recently in May 2005, when Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine refused to play at a Greek concert if Rotting Christ were on the bill.^[10][11]

n response to their forced cancellation, Sakis noted:

“

I didn't expect something like that from Dave Mustaine, because, you know, he's supposed to be metal — you know, 'metal band,' all metal ... I just feel sorry for him and for every new Christian with new ideas, because we think Christianity is the worst thing to happen in human history. This is a well-organized trick in order to control society, so when I see someone that's very much Christian, that's full of the system, I feel very sorry for him because he's not free. [12]

”

Anthrax co-founder Dan Lilker defended Rotting Christ and criticized Dave Mustaine's actions ^[13], as did Nevermore's Warrel Dane, whose bands appeared on Mustaine's Gigantour in 2005. Dane added:

“

Everybody is free to believe anything he wants to; I just think that Dave misunderstood the whole subject. I have met the guys from Rotting Christ and I don’t think that they are Satanists or something. I think that Dave overreacted on this. [14]

”

When playing in Malta, a country which in its constitution declares itself as Roman Catholic, trouble from the Church and other Catholic groups ensued when an unknown person stuck a Rotting Christ flyer to a church door. The band was allowed to play eventually even though they had to change venue.

Despite the name, the band's traditional lyrical themes involving evil and occultism has evolved into a more "mystic" path,^[9] and they have modified their musical direction on each album, utilizing elements such as clean melodic baritone vocals, doom, gothic metal and industrial music traits, and male/female Benedictine chants. Recent albums, beginning with Khronos, have shown the band taking a more modern, faster and more aggressive approach to their blackened-gothic style. Their 2007 album, Theogonia, especially, has been described as more "atmospheric" and "epic" by their label.^[15]

The group's choice of producers, engineers and mixers has also been varied; Swedish extreme metal figures Dan Swanö (Unisound), Peter Tägtgren (Abyss Studios) and Fredrik Nordström (Studio Fredman), German producers Andy Classen (Asphyx, Belphegor) Siggi Bemm (Therion, Theatre of Tragedy) and Waldemar Sorychta (Lacuna Coil, The Gathering) as well as Xytras (Samael percussionist/keyboardist) have all contributed to production on the band's albums.

As of 2007^[update], Rotting Christ have been around 20 years, one of the longest running bands within the black metal genre. In celebration of the band's longevity, the 2 DVD + 2 CD compilation, "Non Serviam: A 20 Year Apocryphal Story," shot in Athens on December 8, 2007, was released worldwide February 23, 2009.

Aealo, the band's latest album, was released on February 15, 2010 for Europe and February 23, 2010 for the USA.

Bloody Mary

Pada cerita rakyat Barat, Bloody Mary adalah setan atau penyihir yang dikatakan akan muncul di kaca ketika namanya dipanggil tiga kali (atau lebih, bergantung versi cerita), sering digunakan sebagai bagian dari permainan. Cerita yang sangat mirip lainnya dengan nama yang sama adalah Mary Worth, Mary Worthington, Hell Mary, dan Black Agnes.^[1] "Bloody Mary" adalah permainan dan hantu dengan yang sama (atau nama lainnya, seperti "Mary Worth") dikatakan akan muncul di kaca ketika dipanggil. Elizabeth Báthory

Elizabeth Báthory (Báthory Erzsébet di Hungaria, Alžbeta Bátoriová(-Nádasdy) di Slowakia, Elżbieta Batory dalam Polandia, lahir 7 Agustus 1560 – meninggal 21 Agustus 1614 pada umur 54 tahun), adalah countess Hungaria dari keluarga Báthory. Keluarga ini diingat untuk pertahanan melawan Utsmaniyah. Ia terkenal sebagai pembunuh berantai dalam sejarah Hungaria dan Slowakia dan diingat sebagai Wanita Berdarah Csejte (kini Čachtice). Istana Čachtice merupakan tempat ia menghabiskan hidupnya. Setelah kematian suaminya, ia dan empat pembantunya dituduh menyiksa dan membunuh ratusan wanita muda, dengan sekurangnya sebanyak 650 korban. Pada tahun 1610, ia dipenjarakan di Istana Čachtice dan menghabiskan hidupnya disana. Bathory lahir di Hungaria thn 1560, kurang lebih 100 tahun setelah Vlad 'The Impaler' Dracul meninggal. Kakek buyut Elizabeth Báthory adalah Prince Stephen Báthory yang merupakan salah satu Ksatria yang memimpin pasukan Vlad Dracul ketika dia merebut kembali kekuasaan di Walachia seabad sebelumnya.

Elizabeth terlahir dari pasangan Georges dan Anna Báthory yang merupakan bangsawan kaya raya dan salah satu keluarga bangsawan paling kaya di Hungaria saat itu. Keluarga besarnya juga terdiri dari orang-orang terpandang. Salah satu sepupunya adalah perdana menteri di Hungaria, seorang lagi adalah Kardinal. Bahkan pamannya, Stepehen kemudian menjadi Raja Polandia. Namun keluarga Báthory memiliki 'sisi' lainnya yang lebih 'gelap' selain segala kekayaan dan popularitasnya. Disebutkan bahwa salah satu pamannya yang lain adalah seorang Satanis dan penganut Paganisme sementara seorang sepupunya yang lain memiliki kelainan jiwa dan gemar melakukan kejahatan sexual.

Samsung galaxy tab

Samsung Galaxy Tab yang secara resmi diluncurkan pada tanggal 2 September lalu, rencananya akan tiba di pasaran Indonesia pada pertengahan bulan Oktober 2010. Pihak Samsung memilih India menjadi negara pertama di Asia untuk memasarkan tablet 7 inchi ini. Hingga kini Samsung belum memberikan keterangan resmi mengenai harga Samsung Galaxy Tab, tapi seorang eksekutif Samsung memberi space harga antara US$ 200 – 300. Tetapi harga tersebut masih bisa dipengaruhi oleh pihak operator, jadi bukan merupakan harga final.
Samsung Galaxy Tab dengan processor Cortex-A8 1 Ghz dan grafis ProverVR SGX540, serta RAM 512 MB. Memori Internal 16 GB didukung slot MicroSD hingga 32 GB. Namun sayangnya perangkat ini belum menggunakan layar SUPER AMOLED seperti yang banyak dipakai pada produk android Samsung, seperti Samsung Galaxy S misalnya. Memang layarnya seluas 7 inci cukup besar dari kebanyakan smartphone yang beredar saat ini, namun perangkat yang satu ini masih cukup nyaman saat digenggam.

iPad

iPad adalah sebuah produk komputer tablet buatan Apple Inc. (AI). iPad memiliki bentuk tampilan yang hampir serupa dengan iPod Touch dan iPhone, hanya saja ukurannya lebih besar dibandingkan kedua produk tersebut dan memiliki fungsi-fungsi tambahan seperti yang ada pada sistem operasi Mac OS X.

Sejarah

iPad diperkenalkan pertama kali oleh Steve Jobs, CEO (yang merupakan singkatan dari Chief Executive Officer) dari Apple Inc. dalam Apple Special Event yang bertempat di Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Fransisco, Amerika Serikat, pada tanggal 27 Januari 2010. Produk ini dirancang sebagai sebuah perangkat digital yang berada di antara telepon pintar (smartphone) dan komputer jinjing (laptop). Apple Inc. berencana akan mulai memasarkan iPad di Amerika Serikat (AS) mulai 3 april 2010, dengan kisaran harga mulai dari 499 Dolar Amerika Serikat (USD) hingga 829 USD. Namun warga AS sudah dapat memesan produk ini mulai tanggal 12 Maret 2010 melalui Apple Online Store.

 Spesifikasi

Apple sejauh ini sudah mengumumkan dua jenis model iPad. Model Wi-Fi dengan Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n dengan berat 680 gram yang akan dipasarkan 3 April 2010 dan model Wi-Fi + 3G yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk menggunakan jaringan HSDPA dengan berat 730 gram, yang akan dipasarkan pada akhir April 2010. Selain itu juga terdapat Bluetooth 2.1, kompas digital, GPS, Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n), dock connector, built-in speaker, mikrofon, 3.5-mm stereo headphone jack dan menggunakan sistem operasi yang sama dengan sistem operasi iPhone.

 Aplikasi

Di dalam iPad, selain fitur umum seperti home screen, contact (kontak), kalender dan catatan terdapat juga sejumlah aplikasi-aplikasi seperti:

1. Safari: merupakan penjelajah web yang dapat digunakan untuk mengakses berbagai situs internet, seperti Google, Yahoo, Myspace, Flickr, Apple atau situs jejaring sosial seperti Friendster, Twitter, Facebook dan Plurk.
2. Mail: merupakan aplikasi yang memungkinkan pengguna untuk melihat surat elektronik (email) dan fitur ini dapat bekerja dengan hampir semua provider terkemuka seperti Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, atau Windows Live Hotmail.
3. iTunes: merupakan aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk menjelajah dan mengunduh musik, tayangan televisi, video maupun podcasts melalui iTunes Store. Aplikasi iTunes yang ada di dalam iPad dapat disinkronisasikan dengan iTunes yang ada pada MacBook ataupun komputer yang dimiliki pengguna.
4. iPod: merupakan aplikasi yang mampu mengorganisasi dan memutar musik, sama seperti yang terdapat pada produk Apple yang lain seperti iPod ataupun iPhone.
5. Photo: sebuah aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk menyimpan, mengorganisasi dan melihat foto. Pengguna tidak hanya bisa melihat foto berdasarkan tanggal dan acaranya, tetapi juga berdasarkan wajah ataupun tempat dimana foto tersebut diambil. Pengguna juga dapat mengsinkronisasikan foto ke dalam iPad dari Mac atau komputer melalui iTunes ataupun memindahkan foto dari kamera digital ke iPad melalui iPad camera connection kit.
6. Video: aplikasi yang digunakan untuk menonton berbagai jenis video, mulai dari film dengan kualitas High Definition (HD), podcast, acara TV sampai musik video dimana saja walau pengguna sedang berada di dalam pesawat sekalipun.
7. App Store: digunakan untuk mengunduh aplikasi yang jumlahnya mencapai hampir 150.000. App Store menyediakan aplikasi untuk produk-produk buatan Apple dengan beragam kategori, mulai dari permainan, gaya hidup, pendidikan dan lain sebagainya. Aplikasi yang terdapat di dalam App Store dapat diunduh secara gratis oleh pengguna namun ada juga yang dikenakan sejumlah biaya.
8. Youtube: aplikasi ini dapat digunakan untuk memudahkan pengguna melihat berbagai macam jenis video yang ada dalam Youtube tanpa perlu mengakses situsnya.
9. iBooks: sebuah aplikasi yang digunakan tidak hanya untuk membaca saja, tetapi juga menjelajah dan membeli buku-buku berformat digital (e-books) dari iBookstore. Aplikasi ini dapat diunduh di App Store secara gratis, namun sayangnya aplikasi ini baru tersedia di AS saja.
10. iWork: aplikasi yang juga terdapat pada Mac, yang terdiri dari Keynote, Pages dan Numbers. Aplikasi ini dapat membantu pengguna membuat presentasi, dokumen, maupun spreadsheet.
11. Maps: aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk melihat peta dari atas dengan resolusi tinggi melalui pencitraan satelit. Selain melihat peta, pengguna juga bisa mencari lokasi tempat atau rute dari satu tempat ke tempat lain.

 Aksesori Tambahan

Apple juga menyediakan berbagai macam aksesori tambahan yang dapat dibeli secara terpisah oleh pengguna untuk melengkapi Ipad. Aksesori tambahan untuk iPad tersedia mulai dari keyboard dock, iPad case, iPad camera connection kit, iPad dock, iPad 10W USB power adapter, iPad dock connector to VGA adapter, Apple wireless keyboard, headphone, earphone hingga composite dan component AV cable.

Versailes

Versailles (known as Versailles -Philharmonic Quintet- in the United States) is a Japanese metal band formed in 2007. It is composed of several notable figures in the visual kei scene. Versailles' key characteristics are their rococo-esque costumes, dueling guitar sounds and heavy but melodic arrangements

2007: Formation

In March 2007, Versailles was formed by Kamijo (ex-Lareine), Hizaki (ex-Sulfuric Acid), and Jasmine You (Yuu, ex-Jakura). Later, Teru (ex-Aikaryu) and Yuki (ex-Sugar Trip), who were recommended by the Rock May Kan venue in Tokyo joined the band.

Kamijo and Hizaki created the concept of Versailles in the autumn of 2006 and spent six months gathering members to express it. Their band concept is “the absolute youshikibi (beauty of form) sound and extremes of aestheticism”. In March 2007 the details of the band were announced. They released promotional material through the Internet, set up an English language page on MySpace, and had several interviews with foreign press.

Versailles made their first appearance with a showcase on June 23, followed by their first performance on June 24. On these dates they also distributed their first single and DVD single, "The Revenant Choir".

The band signed a contract with the German CLJ Records label and released its first album, Lyrical Sympathy on October 31, both in Japan and Europe.^[3] Their song "The Love From A Dead Orchestra" also appears on a compilation album released by Sony BMG in Germany on November 9, called 'Tokyo Rock City'.

2008: Noble

In 2008, Versailles made their first appearances in Europe and United States. In March and April, the band performed cooperatively with Matenrou Opera across Europe.^[4] Versailles was later invited by Tainted Reality to perform shows on May 30 at Project A-Kon in Dallas, Texas and on June 3 at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, California as their American debut.^[5] The Project A-Kon concert pulled in more than 3,000 people and the latter sold out completely.^[6][7]

On July 9, 2008, Versailles digitally released their first full album, Noble, exclusively on international iTunes Music Stores. This was followed by its general Japanese CD release on July 16 and its international CD release on July 30.^{[8] [9]}

Versailles' Japanese record label announced on August 19, 2008 that they received notice of a musician in the United States already using the name "Versailles".^[10] The Japanese band was compelled to create a new promotional name in order to proceed with their plans to tour in the United States again, so they called upon their fans to send in ideas.^[10] On September 14, 2008 the band announced on their website that their new name for the US was to be "Versailles -Philharmonic Quintet-", whilst keeping their original name in Japan and countries other than United States.^[11] "Prince" is the title of their first single released under the new name and it was available as a free digital download.

2009: Going Major

Kamijo announced at the December 23rd C.C.Lemon Hall oneman that Versailles would be going major in June 2009, both in Japan and internationally on Warner Music Japan. Their major debut single, "Ascendead Master", was released on June 24, 2009.

Versailles played their last nationwide tour as an independent band through March 26 to May 9, entitled "The Fragment Collectors". Further events such as the "Anthology of Revolution" marked their final concerts, finishing with five consecutive nights at Meguro Rock May Kan. Their final independent live took place on June 21, 2009.

Versailles announced that they would not be performing any more lives or releasing new content until their next untitled album. This was due to be released on September 16, 2009 under two flavours: a vanilla CD and a limited edition CD+DVD combo in a tri-fold digipak case with a special booklet.

The Passing of Jasmine You

On August 3, it was announced that Jasmine You would temporarily suspend all musical activities due to unknown circumstances regarding his health and to recover. It had been announced that Versailles' new album was in the final stages of production and the bass tracks were being recorded. In the early hours of August 9, 2009, it was reported on the official site that Jasmine You had died. The translated announcement reads as follows:

2009.8.9 「Versailles」 Urgent Announcement: Though Jasmine You had taken time off in order to rest because of poor physical condition, we received a report that early in the morning on August 9, he died. Because of the extreme abruptness of this news, the members and staff are all dumbfounded and trying hard to accept this it. As soon as his family has been notified and updated as to the details and we receive their permission, we will further report to all of the fans. Moreover, with the current announcement, in regards to activity, please allow us to postpone it. [1]

2010: Present

After a canceled performance, Versailles performed at "V-Rock Festival '09" on October 25, 2009. Yo of Matenrou Opera played as their support bassist. On January 4, 2010, Versailles held the "Jasmine You -Memorial Ceremony-" at Shibuya O-East, where themselves, Kaya and Matenrou Opera performed. Their major label debut album entitled, Jubilee, was released on January 20, 2010.

They also announced a world tour entitled "Versailles World Tour 2010 "Method of Inheritance"", which started on February 28, 2010, in Yokohama. Their support bassist for the tour was Masashi, a member of Cosmo and Közi's live band. The Japanese leg of the tour, ended with two final gigs, titled "-Jubilee-", one in Osaka at Midou Kaikan on April 18 and one in Tokyo at JCB Hall on April 30, 2010, these concerts were performed with a live choir.

Versailles then traveled to Latin America and Europe before returning to Japan for a special birthday event for Kamijo. The "-Grand Final-" of the tour was performed on September 4, 2010, at C.C. Lemon Hall, some of the concert was later broadcast on WOWOW. There they announced that Masashi officially joined the band as their new bassist, with Jasmine You being cited as an "eternal member". They also announced that live versions of their two indie albums, Lyrical Sympathy and Noble, would be released on September 1, 2010. The songs were recorded on December 23, 2008, at their "Chateau de Versailles" tour final at C.C. Lemon Hall, the same concert that appears on the Chateau de Versailles DVD. Lyrical Sympathy -Live- contains the bonus track "Sforzando -Original Version-" and Noble -Live- does not include "To The Chaos Inside" or "Episode".

Their next single was released in three types: two different Limited Editions (type A and B) and a Regular Edition (both limited editions will have a DVD with either live clips or the singles' PV). The single, entitled "Destiny -The Lovers-", was released on October 27, 2010.

In late November, Panasonic broadcast a 15 minute digest of one of Versailles' concerts in 3D at more than 8,000 retail stores nationwide. The concert was the "World Tour 2010 "Method of Inheritance" -Jubilee-" gig recorded at JCB Hall in Tokyo on April 30, 2010. Some fans caught an early exclusive 3D screening of the concert at the Panasonic Center in Ariake, Japan from November 8th to 14th.^[12]

マリス・ミゼル;(Malice Mizer)

Malice Mizer (マリス・ミゼル; Marisu Mizeru) is a visual kei rock band from Japan. They were active from January 1992 to December 2001. Formed by Mana and Közi, the band's name stands for "malice and misery", extracted from "nothing but a being of malice and misery" — their reply to the question "what is human?". Their earlier music and themes were characterized by their strong French and classical influences, later moving away from deliberate French romanticism and incorporating Gothic-Victorian aspects after several tragedies befell the band.
Malice Mizer is as famous for their music as for their live shows, featuring lavish historical costumes and stage sets, short silent theatre pieces preluding various songs, whimsical dance routines, and even a particularly notable instance of the vocalist descending to Earth (the stage) as a fallen angel, only to ascend again at the end of the concert. Throughout their history, the band has gone through several different lineups and three drastic image changes.

On December 11, 2001, it was announced that Malice Mizer would go on an indefinite hiatus. However, as Mana recently wrote on his homepage, three of the four members (Mana, Közi and Yu~ki) have regained frequent contact with each other from the middle of 2008. Then on December 27, seven years after the hiatus started, Közi played on stage with Mana's Moi dix Mois for a session gig at their "Dis Inferno Vol.VI ~Last Year Party~" event. In 2009 Közi went on a short 2 gig coupling tour with Moi dix Mois called "Deep Sanctuary". A year later, in July of 2010, Közi went on another tour with Moi dix Mois, titled "Deep Sanctuary II", with Yu~ki as a special guest at Akasaka Blitz on the 17th.^[2] This was the first time in 9 years that the 3 remaining original members were on stage together.
